Restoration Project

The 12th century church needed a new nave roof and extensive repairs to the stonework on the tower and walls of the building.  The work was made possible by a grant of £211,800 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for a project to ‘Repair, Protect and Share the 12th Century Heritage’.  Other funds were raised by the church, village community and by donations from other grant giving organisations and individuals. These additional funds have enabled further work to take place whilst the scaffolding was in position, including some internal decoration and repair of stonework which on closer inspection was found to be in a poor state.
