We rely on, and are thankful for, many volunteers who are responsible for keeping the building and the churchyard looking so beautiful throughout the year. We always welcome anyone who would like to join in.
There is a team who regularly mow the grass throughout the growing season. Each volunteer is given their own section of the churchyard that they are responsible for, thus spreading the enormous task amongst many. Once a year, in the Autumn, members of the church and the village community join together to make a working party to tidy up before the winter weather sets in. If you can spare any time to keep our churchyard tidy or are interested in joining the Autumn working party please contact us or check our calendar of events. There is a great sense of achievement when you see the results of your labours and the Autumn working party is a wonderful opportunity to join together as a team with the chance to chat over coffee and pastries when you take a well earned break.
A group of volunteers give up a morning of their time twice a year to vacuum, sweep, dust and polish. If you have a passion for cleaning and would like to join in, again contact us or check the calendar of events.
Currently, there is a team of about twelve ladies who are responsible for arranging the flowers in church each week. They work on rota basis and are always pleased to welcome new members to the team even if you haven’t had much experience before. On special occasions and at the festivals they come together and work as a group.
The church flowers look stunning at festival times of Easter, Christmas and Harvest. In the past we have held flower festivals in conjunction with the village open garden weekend and other village events such as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
If you would like to join the team or maybe can help at festival times please contact us.
