In the services

We work very hard at making every service accessible and meaningful across all ages and stages, with activities for young people alongside every service.  On the second Sunday each month we create a special opportunity to be relevant to younger ages and families, with activity, story and creativity integrated in the service.  This is a shorter service without communion, making it very easy to come to if you are new to church and gives us the chance to explore themes together.

Holiday club

Each year, during the summer holidays we hold a themed week of fun and activity to explore faith together.  Everyone enjoys it, all ages can be involved.

Travelling Posada during Advent

Posada is a Spanish word meaning ‘inn’ and the tradition originated in Mexico.  The modern day Posada encourages us to give a home to the nativity figures of Mary and Joseph for a night. It comes in a bag with suggestions and resources to enjoy this special way of sharing in the preparations for Christmas.  The travelling Posada symbolizes making room for Jesus in our hearts, homes and communities.  Each night during Advent it is hoped the figures will visit a different house in our communities.  Each host chooses who to contact and pass the nativity set on to for the next night.

Seasonal activities

On Easter Saturday, Harvest weekend and the Saturday before Christmas Eve, the church is open to see the seasonal decorations, with activities for children, and refreshments are available for everyone to enjoy.

Pilgrim Course

For adults new to faith or wishing to learn more, there are three short Pilgrim courses each year. Pilgrim approaches the great issues of faith not through persuasion, but participation in a pattern of contemplation and discussion with a group of fellow travellers.  In this small group setting of six weekly sessions starting in February, May and November, it is easy and accessible to come alongside others who are also exploring Christian faith.  At present the group meets on Tuesdays from 6-7:30pm in Ashow Club.  If you are interested but cannot make that time, then we will happily explore shaping a course that suits your availability better.

House Group

Our house group ‘Small Group’ meets monthly following a study agreed by the group. The theme may follow the church seasons or a topical event.

Both  groups welcome new members. Please contact us for further details of the Pilgrim Course, the Small Groups or any of the children’s activities.
